A clear benefit of the valve design is their dual range capability - the same valve can be used in pressure relief or in pressure loading (sustaining) mode merely by selecting the relevant inlet port.

The body of the valve is 1¼" and the valve is commonly referred to as 1¼", but the union ends are metri c and designed for connection to polypropylene pipe that has an outer diameter of 40mm
